Its agricultural heritage, tree-lined neighborhoods, historic downtown, and growing arts and entertainment scene reflect a city that values its traditions while embracing new opportunities. From family-owned establishments that have served generations to emerging businesses bringing fresh ideas to the region, Modesto’s character is shaped by the people who call it home.

 

At the heart of that character are the local businesses and individuals who contribute to the community every day. They create jobs, support local causes, bring neighbors together, and provide the products, services, and experiences that make the Central Valley special. Best in Modesto celebrates those that have earned the trust and loyalty of the communities they serve.

 

Now in its fourth year, Best in Modesto continues to demonstrate the enthusiasm residents have for supporting local. This year, more than 141,000 votes were cast, a 15 percent increase year over year. The strong participation reflects the pride residents take in recognizing the businesses, organizations, and individuals that contribute to Modesto’s quality of life and distinctive character.

 

Producing a program of this size takes a dedicated local team, committed businesses, supportive advertisers, and an engaged community. We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who nominated, voted, advertised, and helped make the 2026 edition of Best in Modesto possible.
